Google Scholar now offering free online case law
My favorite online source for free case law has been Findlaw.com. Bulk.resource.org is also a very good source for federal material. And now we have Google Scholar. I tried searching for "In re Tobacco II Cases," and it gave me the original Court of Appeal opinion from 2006, not the Supreme Court's opinion. However, it worked great when I typed in the citation. Another drawback is that there seems to be no static permalink for cases, which the other two online sources both have.
The main page is http://scholar.google.com/ and you have to select the "legal opinions and journals" button. [Via California Labor and Employment Blog.]
