Free teleseminar on Mazza v. American Honda tomorrow morning (Thursday, May 31) at 10:00 a.m. Pacific

The American Bar Association (Section of Antitrust Law, Public Advertising Litigation Committee) will present a free teleseminar tomorrow morning (Thursday, May 31) at 10:00 a.m. Pacific on Mazza v. Honda.  The program looks very interesting:

A Discussion of the Impact of Mazza v. American Honda Co. on the Future of Nationwide Class Action Litigation Under California's Consumer Protection Laws

On January 12, 2011, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals issued an important decision in Mazza v. American Honda Co., Inc., No. 09-55376 (9th Cir. 2012), holding that individualized choice-of-law issues preclude certification of a nationwide class action brought under California's consumer protection laws, and that individualized reliance issues precluded certification of a California-only class of consumers.  This panel will feature California class action experts, representing both plaintiff and defense perspectives, who will discuss the implications of the Mazza decision for future nationwide consumer protection class action litigation.

Moderator:  Ben Whitwell, Partner, Venable LLP
Speakers:      Keri Campbell, Partner, Kelley Drye & Warren LLP
Dina Micheletti, Partner, Fazio | Micheletti LLP
